Walk it Out

Today is a day to say something. Whether you’re a parent, a student, a teacher…you are someone who has a voice.

Today marks the beginning of an end. The end of complacency towards gun violence.

Today our children are rising above and beyond us to demand action, because legislators and adults have failed them. The days of feeling safe at school have been stripped away from them, and they’re fed up.

As a country, we have allowed it to get to the point where our children are having to demand change, because adults allowed themselves to grow into this tragic norm.

These amazing kids are no longer willing to be silenced.

They won’t be held back because of their age.

They have a right to go to school and feel safe.

They have a right to let our elected officials know that’s how they feel.

Whether people like it or not, these kids are going to shape the future and rewrite history, It’s time to support, walk alongside them.

Gun violence has to stop. We are America. We have the ability to eradicate it if we so choose. I only hope that we, as a nation, as human beings co-existing together, choose correctly.

At 10:00 a.m. today in every time zone, students across the nation are going to be walking out for their right to safety, to fear and violence-free access to education.

They’re walking out to remember that 17 children. CHILDREN. Were taken from their families and their lives too soon, for senseless, avoidable actions.

Will you walk out with them? Will you speak on their behalf? Or will you allow yourself to become complacent?

Use your voice and know that it matters, lovelies. It does.

I try to stay away from posting too much of my political voice on this platform. This is an open space for everyone from every walk of life, and I would never want anyone to feel like they don’t have a voice here. But this is also something I have felt very compelled to speak on, so please be kind and remember that everyone is entitled to their own opinions.
